The battle between these two master thieves and The Flash runs like a thread through the 23 episodes while also focusing on Barry’s unrequited love for Iris and his investigation into the murder of his mother. The Flash is more than a series about a superhero full of bombastic action scenes and beautiful special effects, because there is also room for tension, humor and romance.
In the first episodes the VFX effects are of acceptable quality and fortunately these effects keep getting better. Still, I do not want to write this off as a downside to the series, because from the first minutes I was glued to the tube and I was hooked after one evening. The average duration of the 42-minute episodes is therefore easy to watch and due to the good acting and the surprising plot twists that are present in abundance, as a viewer you don’t really want to stop watching. The Flash has a fan even though I never had a connection with this DC Comics character. And I am very curious if The Flash will be joining the Justice League films that will be released in the coming years and if protagonist Grant Gustin will also play the role of the fast-paced superhero.
