The story takes us to a city without a name again (Metro PD, or what has been the Metropolitan Police Department), but which is where all the clumsy police officers in the cinema end up working, seeing the results. A dead corpse with a trap similar to those used by Jigsaw (something they deduce because … well, because he puts it in the script), starts a game of cat and mouse in which the objective this time is corrupt policemen, and in which Jigsaw gives way to an impersonator who will put the police on the ropes. All this peppered with some of the worst dialogue that can be heard and with the highest number of cliches per square meter of the year.
And even they may find it difficult to appreciate what the new film in the franchise offers, the ninth already, which seemed to want to revolutionize the invention with the possibly best-known cast of the saga to date, including names like Chris Rock, Max Minghella or Samuel. L. Jackson, and with a premise that not only intended to get away from Jigsaw and company, finally leaving Tobin Bell, the actor who played the character of John Kramer, to rest from the role, but also tried to talk about highly current issues to through entertainment. In this case, the corruption of power, the police, and the abuse of it before the citizens, in addition to the need for voices that oppose this abuse of authority. It fails terribly.
